GameExpo Highlighted UAE’s Creative Talent and Growing Digital Economy: The UAE’s vibrant gaming and creative economy took center stage at GameExpo 2026 as more than 75 local artists, gaming developers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses gathered under The Narrows, a dedicated platform celebrating the country’s rapidly growing digital and creative industries.

Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), GameExpo served as the flagship event of the Dubai Esports & Games Festival 2026. The Narrows, supported by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, provided a unique marketplace where visitors discovered limited-edition merchandise, gaming-inspired artwork, collectibles, and custom creations produced by local talent.

The initiative highlighted Dubai’s commitment to nurturing homegrown creative businesses and fostering entrepreneurship in future-focused industries. Visitors had the opportunity not only to purchase unique products but also to interact directly with artists, creators, and innovators shaping the region’s creative landscape.
Among the exhibitors was Adam Long, owner of Dubai Sound Academy, who described The Narrows as an important platform for gaining visibility and connecting with new audiences.
“Gaming is a strong community and this marketplace has a great vibe and atmosphere. Combined with music, it is a brilliant combination,” Long said. “It was our first time participating here, and there was a lot of engagement from attendees at GameExpo, which was amazing to be part of.”
Long added that the event provided an opportunity for aspiring DJs to learn new skills while giving academy students a prestigious stage to showcase their talents.
The Narrows also reflected Dubai’s broader strategy of investing in innovation-driven sectors and supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which sought to position the emirate as a global hub for entrepreneurship, digital talent, and innovation.
Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi emphasized the importance of GameExpo in supporting cultural and creative industries while creating opportunities across gaming, design, digital arts, and content creation.
“GameExpo provided a valuable platform for talent, entrepreneurs, and creative businesses to showcase their work and innovations, connect with industry professionals, and engage with a wider audience,” she said. “By creating opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and growth, the event contributed to the development of future-focused creative sectors and supported Dubai’s position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.”
Al Suwaidi noted that Dubai Culture’s support for The Narrows demonstrated its commitment to empowering creative professionals and SMEs by helping them access new markets, partnerships, and business opportunities.
Visitors experienced The Narrows while exploring the wider GameExpo event, which featured 10 immersive zones dedicated to gaming, esports, cosplay, live tournaments, and interactive entertainment. Tickets started at AED 29, and attendees were also eligible for special promotions, including the chance to win a Jetour T2 Luxury Plus vehicle through selected ticket purchases.
Presented by du, DEF 2026 was supported by major partners including Amazon, Dubai Culture, Jetour UAE, part of Elite Group Holding, and talabat.
Running from May 22 to June 7, the Dubai Esports & Games Festival further strengthened Dubai’s reputation as a leading destination for esports, gaming innovation, and digital entertainment, while providing a powerful platform for local creators and businesses to showcase their talent to regional and international audiences.
